Privacy

What we collect, what we don't, and why.

Calculation Cafe has no accounts and collects no personal information from teachers or students. A café — its name, menu, prices and settings — travels inside its own link, in the part after the # sign. Browsers never send that part to any server, so we never see it.

Students type their names to start a shift. Those names, and every order and answer in the shift, stay on the device: they're kept in the browser's local storage so a shift survives a closed tab, and so past Shift Reports can be downloaded again. The Shift Report PDF is made on the device too. None of it is sent anywhere, and clearing the browser's site data removes it.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to anonymously count the number of visits, which helps us understand how Calculation Cafe is being used in classrooms. Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless, does not fingerprint visitors, and does not track users across other sites; see Cloudflare's privacy policy for details. We do not share, sell, or otherwise transfer any visitor data to third parties.
